June 25, 2015 Texas Weather Roundup

Good Morning Texas! Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Texas Weather Roundup – a daily weather forecast highlighting any upcoming hazardous weather along with what to expect during the upcoming day. Today will be the last relatively quiet day before we start seeing changes in the atmosphere as a northwest flow aloft brings in cooler weather and some storm chances.

The sea-breeze will be today’s focal point for isolated thunderstorms by this afternoon in Southeast Texas through the coastal regions into the RIo Grande Valley. The strongest popup storms will produce frequent lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. Each individual storm will only last 30 to 45 minutes before raining itself out. The outflow generated by the storm could fire up another one close by. That process would continue through about dinner time before storms died out towards sunset.
