A Tornado WATCH has been posted for parts of northwest and west central Texas until 10pm this evening. Â This includes the following counties: Â Archer, Baylor, Callahan, Clay, Eastland, Fisher, Foard,Hardeman, Haskell, Jack, Jones, Knox, Montague, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Parker, Shackelford, Stephens, Taylor, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, Wise, and Young. Â This does NOT include the DFW metroplex.
Isolated storm development has already begun across this region ahead of the dryline. Â While we do expect that development to remain isolated and not widespread, these storms will be tapping into a great deal of atmospheric instability and will likely become severe very rapidly with a very large hail threat. Â A couple of tornadoes is also not out of the question. Â Stay weather aware this evening if you live or travel through this region of the state!
