Flash Flood Emergency for the Blanco River Basin and Tributaries in eastern Hays, Southwest Caldwell, and northern Guadalupe counties in South-Central Texas. This emergency situation includes north San Marcos. A catastrophic flooding event is underway on the Blanco River at Wimberley where the river is now 7-8 feet above the record high crest set in 1929. Numerous to dozens (if not over a hundred) homes have been flooded with dozens of water rescues in progress. This wave of water will move downstream and impact locations in West Kyle and north San Marcos in Hays County along the Blanco River. Water will then move into northern Guadalupe and southwest Cardwell counties. This is a historic and life-threatening situation. Catastrophic flooding is underway in Wimberley and this will spread downstream this morning. If you have friends/family in the areas we mentioned you need to wake them up.
