12 PM Severe Weather Update

* Thunderstorms may begin developing after 1 PM across the Texas Panhandle. These storms would quickly move east/northeast with some likely severe. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes would be possible with these storms. A Tornado Watch will likely be issued for portions of this area by 1 PM or so.

* Thunderstorms may begin developing after 3 PM across West-Central Texas. These storms would move east/northeast with the possibility of large hail, damaging winds, and a couple of tornadoes.

* An Enhanced Severe Weather Risk now includes all of Northwest Texas, the Big Country, and western North Texas where confidence in at least a few severe thunderstorms is highest this afternoon and evening. Please note the highest severe weather risk will remain north and west of the D/FW Metroplex much of today.

* A severe weather outbreak – including multiple tornadoes – is anticipated across Oklahoma and Kansas today.

* Thunderstorms could continue into the overnight hours in Texas in the enhanced risk and possible risk zones with some storms capable of large hail and gusty winds. Check with your local National Weather Service office at weather.gov for the most up to date forecast
