Texas Panhandle

Very warm to record high temperatures today with low to mid 80s expected. Winds will become gusty this afternoon with extreme fire danger. Any outdoor fires that develop could require significant resources to contain with rapid spread.

Permian Basin

Warm and partly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s in the lower elevations. Cloudy with a slight chance of rain in the Alpine Mountains into the Big Bend.
