Widespread moderate to heavy rain is falling across Deep South Texas into the Coastal Plains this morning. More isolated shower activity is in progress across the Concho Valley into North Texas to just west of Fort Worth. The forecast has changed a bit today thanks to the large area of rain in South Texas. That large area of rain is ‘robbing’ the moisture from North Texas thus rain chances won’t be nearly as high as expected. We should still see areas of rain and a few storms but the heavy rain threat across the Concho Valley into North and Central Texas is diminishing this morning. The same can’t be said in Deep South Texas where flash flood warnings are in effect north and west of Corpus Christi. This area of heavy rain is slowly progressing north/northeast and will make its way into Southeast Texas this morning. No severe weather or widespread flash flooding is expected.
