Dense fog has already become widespread across Central, South, and Southeast Texas this evening. Moisture streaming northward ahead of our upcoming storm system along with an inversion has caused widespread fog to form. This issue will continue tonight and into Tuesday morning. Fog will likely also develop across portions of the Big Country, Concho Valley, Hill Country, North Texas, and East Texas tonight as we continue to see the temperature/dewpoint spread decrease. If you’re reading this blog you probably already know how to drive in fog but for those who don’t lets go over a few safety rules. Rule one is don’t use high beam highlights. Those will only decrease your sight and turn your vehicle into a monster spotlight. Rule two is don’t be involved in one of those fifty car pileups caused by dense fog and tailgating drivers. The dense fog will continue for the morning rush hour on Tuesday before burning off sometime after sunrise.
