Record warmth will be abundant across the state today with temps in the 70’s and 80’s…way above normal for this time of the year.  Western Texas and the panhandle region will experience the warmest temps with highs topping out in the low to mid 80s.  North central Texas will see highs in the low to mid 70’s today.  Southern/southeast Texas will be battling some stubborn cloud cover this morning which will inhibit the diurnal rise in temps just a bit with only upper 60’s to low 70’s expected by this afternoon.  Overall…what a nice treat in the middle of Winter…and the good news is that these nice warm temps are expected to last through the middle of next week!

Winds will be gusty at times today especially across parts of north central Texas. Conditions are prime for wildfires across much of north central and northwest Texas this afternoon, so do be careful with anything that could cause a spark or flame.  That’s it for this brief mid-morning update!  Hopefully everyone can get out and enjoy the beautiful weather today!
