Mild and Dry Today!

Warm and mostly dry conditions will be the forecast highlights this weekend.  Highs will climb into the mid 80s across the panhandle and deep south Texas by this afternoon with pleasant mid to upper 70s across north, central and southeast Texas  Southerly winds have returned and we’ll begin to see an increase in gulf moisture and more humid conditions beginning tomorrow.  By this time of the year, we should be seeing highs only reach the low to mid 70s across the central and northern portions of the state.  With highs expected to continue reaching at least the low 80s for much of the week ahead, we’re once again looking at a stretch of above normal daily highs leaving us wondering when Fall will finally arrive and stick around for awhile. Unfortunately, the long-range models are not being very forthcoming with any news of another strong cold front arriving anytime soon.  The good news is that it doesn’t appear like we’ll be seeing extreme highs in the 90s again like we saw earlier this week.  We’ll remain dry through most of next week as well…with just a few chances for showers early in the week for deep south Texas, and scattered chances across north and central Texas by the middle of the week.
