5:40pm Weather Update

Widespread rainfall had shifted east of the I-35 corridor across east central and southeast TX. Most of the rain continues to fall at moderate rates, but we do have a few pockets of 1+inch per hour rainfall moving north into the Austin area and 2+ inch rainfall across areas both west and east of Austin, north of Houston near Montgomery and just south of Palestine.  The cold front has cleared the panhandle region and is moving into northern Texas and bringing gusty winds to parts of far west Texas.

Best rainfall chances shift south tomorrow and tomorrow night as the front continues to track south towards the coast.  We could also see a few lingering showers behind the front early tomorrow, but after that, we begin to clear out as high pressure settles in behind the front.  Highs tomorrow behind the front will be quite pleasant and fall-like with daily highs remaining below normal for the work week ahead!
