Tornado Watch Issued for North/Central Texas till Midnight

A new tornado watch has been issued that includes portions of North Texas, Central Texas, and the Hill Country. Stephenville, D/FW, Waco, Round Rock, Austin, Burnet, Mason, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, east to Corsicana are all included in this watch. We’ve seen a few discrete storms just west of Interstate 35 in North-Central Texas take on supercell characteristics. Brief tornadoes will be possible with those storms as they continue moving north over the next hour or two. Additional isolated storms may continue to develop ahead of the squall line, which would also have the potential to produce brief tornadoes. The squall line itself continues to move east at a good clip with a threat of damaging wind gusts, hail, heavy rain, and brief tornadoes.
