Pleasant Early Fall Week Ahead!

Yesterday’s cold front has made its way through the state this evening with some lingering showers along the coast, far southeast Texas and across the Permian Basin region. Drier air is filtering in behind the front which will push the post-frontal rain further south overnight and tomorrow with only a few showers expected across coastal areas of deep south Texas by tomorrow afternoon.  At long last, we’re finally in for our first real taste of early Fall weather this week!

Lows tonight will be quite chilly for folks across the panhandle region where temps will drop down into the 40s by early tomorrow.  I suspect there might be a few folks turning on the heat for the first time this season!  North Texas and West Texas will see lows dropping down into the mid to upper 50s, and the coastal plains will see temps tonight range from the mid 60s to low 70s.  Highs tomorrow will be very pleasant across most of the state with mid 70s to low 80s. Warmest spots tomorrow will be right along the coast as the benefits of the cold front continue to filter south.  Clouds will also begin to clear out, but it won’t be until Wednesday before we have a majority on blue sky once again.  A reinforcing push of cool and dry air will arrive Wednesday which will help keep temps below seasonal averages for the remainder of the work week.

We’ll see a nice chance to dry out this week with only a few lingering chances for showers along the coast tomorrow, then mostly dry for the remainder of the work week.  Right now it appears that our next chance for meaningful rainfall will not arrive until the early part of next week.  That’s still too far out in the forecast for any level of certainty, so between now and then, I hope everyone can get some time outside to enjoy the weather!
