1:50pm Update – North Central TX/DFW Metro

A severe squall line of storms is approaching quickly from the west.  Straight-line winds in excess of 70mph is likely as this line moves east at around 30mph.  Quick tornadic spin-ups along the leading edge is also likely.  These are nearly impossible to forecast or warn for ahead of time, so take these warnings seriously and seek shelter immediately as this line approaches your area.  If any folks are left on area lakes west of the metro…or in the metro such as Lewisville, Grapevine or Ray Roberts, you need to be getting to shore now!  With our recent rains and extremely wet soils, any heavy rain will have nowhere to go but up, so flooding will be likely across the area.  In addition, wet soils will make it easier for trees to be uprooted and topple over in high winds, so choose your parking spots wisely if you can.
