Your Weekend Forecast – Cold Front & Slight Rain Chances Monday/Tuesday

Still very much flip flop and t-shirt weather this weekend as Summer-like temps continue to keep their grip on the state.  Today’s highs will still be a few degrees above seasonal normals, but with humidity levels fairly low, it will still feel pleasant out this afternoon.  Lows tonight will be pleasant and range from the 60s to low 70s across the state.  On Sunday, southwest winds will bring much warmer temps to the state…some as much as 15 degrees above where we should be at by this time of the year.

On Monday, a stronger “cool” front will arrive making it down to the coast by early Tuesday.  This will drop temps back down into the 80s for the first part of the week…still above where we should be at this point in October, but the abundance of drier air the front will be dragging in behind it will help knock out that summery muggy feeling and will also allow overnight temperatures to drop down into the 50s.

Rain chances with this front will be slim…and concentrated mostly across eastern Texas and the southeast coastal region.  Beyond that, the outlook for the rest of the work week looks dry, but there are signs of a much stronger cold front on the horizon which may bring some slight rain chances with its arrival.  Right now, forecast models are struggling with agreement on the timing, but we’ll keep an eye on it and provide you with updates this coming work week!
