Pretty much a copy and paste forecast from yesterday with scattered storms developing across parts of west Texas and up into eastern New Mexico.  These have already begun to die out and will continue to do so overnight leaving most of the state rain-free.  Temps look to be just a degree or so cooler than last night as humidity levels have dropped slightly, but still nothing to write home about.  And we’ll have mostly clear skies featuring the moon at about 85% full.  A pretty typical summer night!

We also have a look at your 6 hour snowfall forecast for tomorrow…because we all know that high pressure and 100 degree temps create the ideal environment for fluffy ice crystal formation within the Dendritic Snow Growth Zone.  NOT!  Haha! Just making sure y’all are actually reading the forecast blogs. (wink wink!)

OK, back to reality…tonight’s low…still muggy but getting a bit less muggy as time goes on without receiving rainfall.  Lows will drop down into the mid to upper 70’s for Dallas, Waco, Austin, Houston and El Paso.  Folks in Lubbock and Amarillo will drop down into the low 70s with much drier air across the region.  Rural areas should drop a few more degrees and into the low to mid 70s.  Again, pretty typical for this time of the year.

High Heat Index readings will remain the biggest weather factor for the next several days.  Highest heat index values will once again be found across southern and eastern Texas.  Unfortunately, it’s not looking like much of a temperature drop is expected across the southern half of the state later this week as a “cool” front drops down into the state.  Increasing clouds across south Texas by late in the week may offer a few degrees of relief, but that’s about it.  By next week, we’re back to our typical summer heat and humidity.
