High Pressure Builds Over the Weekend/Next Week

Other than additional chances for storms Thursday, Friday and possibly Saturday evening across parts of the panhandle and far west Texas, it looks like our rain and storm chances sharply decrease as we head into the weekend.  High pressure will build in over the state by the weekend, and we could be looking at the first 100 degree readings across parts of northern Texas by early next week.  We’ve been very fortunate this year with abundant rain and moisture to help keep the 100 degree temps in check, but we knew our luck would eventually run out!

Here’s a look at the high temps expected into the weekend.  Overall not bad and pretty seasonal for this time of year.   By Monday, we’ll be easing into the upper 90’s to 100’s across a large swath of northern Texas including the DFW metroplex and western north Texas.  Moisture levels will still be high from recent rain which will push the heat index readings well into the low 100s.

Again, rain chances will be on the decrease and pretty much non-existent by the first of next week.  Tomorrow and Friday have a return of storm chances for portions of the panhandle and west Texas, but other than that, pretty tame for at least the next 7 days!
