The large complex of severe and tornadic storms west of the metroplex continues to move east/northeast towards the northern portions of the DFW metroplex. Â By all accounts, it appears the atmospheric environment they’ll be moving into will sustain them at least to the I-35 corridor. Â Residents across north Texas, particularly the northern DFW metroplex counties, will need to remain weather-aware for the remainder of the evening…at least between now and around midnight. Â Hail, flooding rains and damaging winds will be the main threats; however, additional tornado development is possible. Â For those with weather apps on their smartphones, keep in mind you’ll need to keep them on, not muted, and with the volume turned up enough for you to hear if warnings are sounded for your area. Â
