7:50pm Severe Wx Update

Our cluster of severe storms in the panhandle are starting to congeal into a blob of rain, hail and high wind gusts.  Great technical term there!  Storms south of DFW in the Waco vicinity were briefly warned earlier this evening and have now settled down quite a bit, but not before causing some issues around Gatesville with golfball size hail reported.  And we have one “little engine that could” storm over by Sweetwater that has been consistently tornado-warned since about 6:30 this evening with one confirmed tornado sighting and several funnel cloud sightings.  Not seeing any reports of damage or injury from that and we’re thinking this was mostly over open fields in less populated areas of Fisher and Nolan counties.  So, for now, we’re just watching the cluster of storms in the panhandle which are forecasted to maintain a healthy convective pattern overnight and track east across north Texas.  We’ll continue to monitor throughout the evening and keep you up to date if anything new pops up!
