12PM Winter Storm Summary & Update

Snow continues to fall across the D/FW Metroplex and much of North Texas at lunchtime. The back edge of the snow extends from Quanah south to Seymour and Abilene. The batch of snow is moving east and should move out of the D/FW Metroplex around 2 PM. Light to locally heavier snow continues to fall ind D/FW where road conditions are in the gutter. Please use caution while driving. An additional half inch to inch of snow is possible across North Texas early this afternoon before snow tapers down.

Another round of wintery weather will impact the Big Country and North Texas later this evening. This round will be primarily light freezing rain or freezing drizzle. It won’t deposit much but we are expecting a thin glaze of ice on all surfaces, including roadways. It goes without saying but having a layer of ice on top of snow will likely make travel conditions extremely difficult tonight. Obviously they’re not good now but they’ll be worse tonight.
