The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of central, southern and southeast Texas under a Marginal Risk for a few strong thunderstorms today. Â Not much is expected with regard to severe storms, but there is the potential for one or two to reach marginally severe limits along the leading edge of the cold front as it advances through the state this afternoon. Â There’s not much atmospheric instability to work with, so gusty winds and lighting will be the main threats with any of the stronger storm that manages to develop.
